LUXEMBOURG-VILLE – Dozens of people at a bus stop were left feeling socially violated on Monday evening after a man exposed his emotions to them.
The incident occurred in the city center when an unknown individual, who was looking at his phone, began laughing.
Aware others had noticed him, he held up his phone, explaining that he was watching a deep-fake video of Hilter and Stalin singing “Video Killed the Radio Star.”
“Oh my god,” he added. “It’s so funny. Sorry.”
Shocked bystanders moved away from the exhibitionist, unsure how to deal with his unusual behavior.
One witness, still fuming even hours after the incident, says no one should be allowed to go around publicly exposing their emotions like some kind of pervert.
“What if there had been kids at the bus stop?” she said. “What kind of lesson does that teach them, that it’s okay to show total strangers what brings you a moment of unexpected happiness?”
“I was literally speechless,” said another witness who is calling for lawmakers to ban such acts of exhibitionism. “Honestly, what was I supposed to do, share his amusement? Make a comment about how far technology has advanced? Laugh in front of all those people?”
Police spokesperson Marco Trausch has reminded the public that although showing your feelings while waiting for public transport is not currently illegal, no one should expect strangers to be receptive to your joy, sadness, or anger.
“Just keep your feelings to yourself, and no one will get hurt,” he said.
