A Luxembourg City couple say they have been left feeling alarmed and deeply ashamed following revelations that they are the only ones in their Beggen neighborhood whose home has not been burgled.
“All our neighbors’ homes have been broken into at least once, and even the family in the apartment across the street, which to be honest isn’t that nice and has cheap, ugly shutters, got robbed twice,” said Joana Karkus, who was made aware of the situation after she joined Hoplr. “And here we are, not even once.”
“What does that say about us?” said Karkus’s partner Remy Molar. “Are we not good enough? Do burglars see us as second-class residents?”
“I have a new PS5,” he added. “Joana keeps most of her jewelry in a little box near our bed. Both of our Canyon mountain bikes are stored unlocked in our garage, ready for the taking.”
According to sources, neighbors do increasingly view the couple as odd, totally due to the fact that no burglars have ever targeted them, earning the couple the long moniker “the creepy people from the house with unbroken windows, a front and back door that are intact, and a lingering sense of security.”
