Luxembourg bans cars with B plates

September 30, 2020

Insisting that Belgium’s recent decision to put residents of the Grand Duchy on a so-called red list has nothing to do with it, Luxembourg has announced a total ban on all cars with a B on the number plate.

“This decision to forbid vehicles with B plates is not connected to the recent and very sensible decisions taken by the government of Belgium,” said Carola Lambrotti, Minister of Petty Revenge and Border Affairs. “In fact, I don’t even know what a B on a number plate stands for. Bulgaria? Bootylicious? Boris Johnson?”

Lambrotti says the ban will be lifted when a certain group of frites-eating former friends start treating Luxembourgers less like a lice-ridden children trying to sneak a birthday party, and “more like wealthy neighbor kids you want to be nice to so maybe they’re let you try their cool new trampoline one day.”
