A food delivery man has been observed flying through the darkened night streets, stealthily and at a “supernatural speed,” as if he were a dreaded Ringwraith from J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings” series.
Around 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Amazon employee Karsten Huneke was walking along his street in Luxembourg City when he heard a distant buzzing, then saw a dark figure approaching him at a great speed. Too frightened to move, he felt a “huge whoosh of air” as the figure flew past him at least 80 kilometers per hour, he estimates.
“I didn’t know what that hellish creature was, but I’m confident that he was not of this earth, even if he was wearing a brightly colored insulated food container on his back and appeared to be searching for an address on his phone,” Huneke said.
Strassen resident Carine Muller, who says she has had the same experience multiple times while walking her Yorkshire Terrier at night, insists she knows the real identity of these so-called Dark Riders.
“They cross vast stretches of cities and villages in just a few seconds whereas it would take a mortal human in a car many minutes,” she said. “They zip through the air in total silence, almost as if their wheels do not touch the road.”
“They are always clad in black and have no helmets or lights on their scooters and bicycles, as if they care not for their own safety or anyone else’s,” she added. “And that is because they are the Nazgûl, the undead kings who serve Sauron.”
