To cater to the majority of professionals who only work to earn a living, have no real interest in their field, and ended up on their career path by happenstance or bad luck, a new professional networking site has been created.
“Whereas LinkedIn is for those who are eager to share their accomplishments and ideas and network with like-minded people, SlinkedIn is for everyone else, all those who don’t really give a shit,” says founder Hannu Laiska, who for years tried in vain to act like he actually cared about IT.

“SlinkedIn is for people who never show up early and roll their eyes whenever anyone in the company shows enthusiasm or initiative,” he said. “It’s for those who start each week with a feeling of deadness and spend every day counting the minutes until it’s all over.”
Laiska says that the site now has over 20,000 active members in Luxembourg alone, a figure he expects to grow to 100,000 by the end of the year.

“SlinkedIn is also a place for disaffected staff to boast when they decide to simply delete last week’s emails instead of reading them, find a creative way to escape team-building day, or trick the facilities team to bringing them a better chair.”
Laiska says that networking is indeed a central part of his platform, and he hopes to organise social events.
“If anyone has the motivation to show up, that is, which they probably won’t because they have better things to do than talk about work when they’re not at work” he said.
