Knock A Shining Dog

Charles told to go back in until June 23

May 13, 2020

Prince Charles of Luxembourg born on wrong dateDespite being overcome with joy, Princess Stéphanie and Prince Guillaume of Luxembourg have informed their newborn son Prince Charles that he’ll have to go back in and come out again in around six weeks.

“We’ve got this thing called ‘the official birthday of the Grand Duke,’ which unfortunately doesn’t happen until June 23,” said Her Royal Highness, rubbing her baby’s cheek. “I mean, you are the future grand duke, so it doesn’t make much sense if you’re born on the tenth of May but we celebrate your birthday in the summer.”

She explained that June 23 would be a better time to be born anyway, because everyone’s wearing face masks now and it might give the impression that everyone is a doctor or has terrible breath.

“Just be happy you weren’t born in July,” His Royal Highness explained to his son. “You’d have to go back inside for almost a full year.”
