Following the creation of Elle Luxembourg and Forbes Luxembourg, the company that owns the Playboy brand has announced the launch of Playboy Luxembourg.
“Luxembourg is a key market for international players, or so we’ve heard,” said PLBY Group spokesperson Les Cloze. “I assume that means discerning gentlemen who like a good martini, enjoy clever but tasteless jokes about women’s physiques, and know at least three different tie knots—and not just lawyers and finance bros who can set up a REIF in their sleep.”
The magazine will consist of high-quality content in order to give readers the cover of subscribing “for the great articles and insightful interviews,” but each issue will feature nude models recruited locally, including a monthly centerfold.
While most of the pieces are in place, says Kloze, the company is still looking for a local figure to play a key role.
“Not an editor or art director,” Kloze said. “We’re just looking for someone to be the public face of the magazine, a Hugh Hefner type to live in a mansion in Kopstal, throw wild parties and fill the pool with crémant, and walk around in public dressed in a silk bathrobe with the Playboy Luxembourg insignia.”
“On that note, we’ve opted for a local rebranding,” he added. “Instead of a Playboy Bunny, Playboy Luxembourg will have a Playboy Cow.”
A slew of major magazines from other markets have announced that they are also launching publications in the Grand Duchy. The list includes the New Yorker Luxembourg, Southeast Asian Travel and Leisure Luxembourg, and Weekly Sudoku Challenge Midlands–UK Luxembourg.
